These are very excellent photographs of Bollinen. This seems more than a quiet retreat for there are shutters on some of the Windows and bars on the Windows so no intruders can get in.
He refused to build a large window so his wife can look at the lake. Then he does build the window after she dies. Seems it’s all about him and no one else
What surprised me is how quiet it was on the shore of the lake. The silence, majestic lake and mountains in the distance seemed timeless. It felt like Jung might just walk out there too.
It is interesting that so many folks focus on the buildings and carvings and not on the landscape… and it was probably the landscape that was the most soulful….
